According to statistics from RootData, a total of 62 publicly disclosed Crypto VC investment projects were recorded in February 2026, representing a month-over-month decrease of 12.7% (71 projects in January 2026) and a year-over-year decline of 50% (124 projects in February 2025). The trend over the past year is shown below:

In February 2026, total Crypto VC funding amounted to approximately USD 866 million, down 46% month-over-month (USD 1.602 billion in January 2026) and down 71.2% year-over-year (USD 3.002 billion in February 2025). The trend over the past year is shown below:

Tether acquired a 12% minority stake in Gold.com for USD 150 million and integrated its gold-backed token XAUT into the Gold.com platform, expanding the global distribution of tokenized gold. The two parties also plan to explore the use of USDT and Tether’s newly launched, U.S.-regulated stablecoin USAT for the direct purchase of physical gold. This move comes amid rising gold prices and the rapid expansion of the tokenized gold market, which has now exceeded USD 5.5 billion in size. Tether’s XAUT currently accounts for more than 60% of the market and is fully backed one-to-one by physical gold stored in Swiss vaults.
Bitcoin treasury company Nakamoto has signed a definitive merger agreement to acquire Bitcoin media and conference organizer BTC Inc., as well as asset management firm UTXO Management. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026. According to the announcement, the acquisition will be completed via a stock-for-stock transaction, with shareholders of BTC Inc. and UTXO collectively receiving approximately 364 million shares of Nakamoto common stock, corresponding to a total transaction value of approximately USD 107 million.
Tether has made a USD 100 million strategic equity investment in Anchorage Digital. Anchorage Digital Bank N.A. is the first federally regulated digital asset bank in the United States, offering services including staking, custody, governance, settlement, and stablecoin issuance. Tether stated that as it continues to scale, it is increasingly focused on how digital asset technologies operate within established legal and regulatory frameworks, and that its investment in Anchorage Digital aligns with this strategic direction.
South Korea’s Mirae Asset Group has decided to invest KRW 133.5 billion (approximately USD 93.82 million) through its subsidiary Mirae Asset Consulting to acquire a 92.06% stake in the cryptocurrency exchange Korbit. The transaction involves the purchase of 26.91 million shares and represents the acquisition of all shares held by Nexon’s parent company NXC and SK Planet, a subsidiary of SK Square.
Prediction market platform Novig announced the completion of a USD 75 million Series B funding round, led by Pantera Capital. Following this round, the company’s valuation reached USD 500 million.
Blockchain analytics firm TRM Labs completed a USD 70 million Series C funding round led by Blockchain Capital, with participation from Goldman Sachs, Bessemer Venture Partners, Brevan Howard, Thoma Bravo, and Citi Ventures, among others. The company’s valuation reached USD 1 billion. TRM Labs focuses on blockchain intelligence software, providing crypto crime tracking services to law enforcement agencies and private enterprises worldwide.
Jupiter received a USD 35 million strategic investment from ParaFi Capital. The transaction was executed with no discount, at market price, and with an extended lock-up period, and was settled entirely using Jupiter’s JupUSD stablecoin. In October last year, Jupiter launched a beta version of an on-chain prediction market developed in collaboration with Kalshi, followed by the release of JupUSD in January this year — a U.S. dollar-pegged stablecoin native to the Solana blockchain, developed in partnership with Ethena Labs.
Cryptocurrency options trading platform and market maker STS Digital, headquartered in Bermuda, announced the completion of a USD 30 million funding round led by CMT Digital, with participation from crypto exchange Kraken, Arrington Capital, and Fidelity’s investment arm, among others. STS Digital was founded by former Credit Suisse trader Maxime Seiler and former UBS trader Gideon Hyams, and currently offers institutional investors access to options contracts across more than 400 cryptocurrencies.
Prometheum, a provider of digital asset market infrastructure, has completed an additional USD 23 million in fundraising. The investment came from a group of high-net-worth individuals and institutions, whose specific identities have not been disclosed. The newly raised capital will be used to integrate cryptocurrencies, tokenized assets, and on-chain securities into the mainstream financial system.
Bluff, a prediction market platform, completed a USD 21 million strategic funding round led by 1kx, with participation from Makers Fund, Maximum Frequency Ventures, Delphi Ventures Founders, and others, including NBA player Tristan Thompson.
