Yahoo Finance Technology Editor Dan Howley joins Market Domination's host Josh Lipton from Cupertino, Calif., at Apple's ( AAPL ) headquarters to describe how it feels to use the newly unveiled foldable iPhone Duo and its features.
you know, I've used a lot of foldables uh before, uh the Samsung foldables, uh Google's foldables. This is pretty much what you would kind of expect to a degree, but then it also has its own little quirks that are pretty interesting. I I I just got to say, you know, when you actually hold it, it is quite comfortable to hold because of that passport design. Got to point out, Samsung just recently launched their own Galaxy Z Fold 8, same exact kind of design that that passport style.
So, you know, hey, just good timing maybe on Samsung's part.
Uh when you pop it open, it's honestly very uh easy to open. It doesn't have any kind of like difficulty. There's a nice kind of uh swing to it when you when you pop it. Uh it's it's not very resistant uh from from me to opening it. Um that landscape mode or if you're holding it in portrait mode like that, obviously Apple's kind of framing that is best for things like uh movies, uh playing games, uh you can do some productivity on it uh obviously, uh and then of course multitasking.
I got to see some multitasking in action using dual A right there. That was that's my video. Um not my hands. Uh but the the kind of dual uh uh app action there is very helpful. and I think that's something that people may try to take advantage of uh relatively often.
But I do also think that it needs to have more uh apps to take advantage of that. I didn't get to see many beyond uh just the photos and the messages app. There's also if you kind of slightly fold it and you're watching something on say Netflix, it'll provide some controls. I think I I do it uh I show it after this uh where, you know, you can do a a a slight fold and then yeah, you'll get those those playback controls at the bottom.
Uh that's very helpful as well, but I also think, you know, how many people are going to hold it like that, how many people aren't. I think for the most part you're just going to hold it as you can see right there and get the bigger picture.
